Achievements
- We have facilitated the formation of Community Resource Boards (CRBs) in Mushota and Mukanta Chiefdoms. CRBs are designed to enable communities surrounding the Park to benefit from natural resources of the Park. The national wildlife policy allows for co-management of each Game Management Area between ZAWA and CRBs.
- We have been facilitating workshops and seminars for all stake holders. We conduct workshops at the community level to help local leaders manage their lands for conservation and economic development. Awareness raising is an important part of our work. We work with local people to shape attitudes towards Wildlife conservation.
- We have trained Game Scouts at ZAWA- African College For Community Based Natural Resource Management (ACCBNRM- Nyamaluma College) in Mfuwe , South Luangwa National Park. Their task will be to conduct patrols, monitor Wildlife and apprehend poachers among other duties.
